Meara Quinn’s Life Through Texts
In Never Forgotten, seventeen-year-old Meara moves from Cedarburg, Wisconsin to Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia. She leaves behind her best friend, Kim Greeley. Kim is spending the summer working on her uncle’s farm, and Meara doesn’t hear from her as often as she’d like.
Kim is a good friend, but caught up in her own life at the moment. She’s got a boyfriend, but Meara doesn’t like him. (He’s been known to cheat on Kim.) Fortunately, their friendship can survive the distance, and they get a chance to see each other again in the fall.
Katie Mitchell is Evan’s younger sister. She’s in the same grade as Meara. Katie is fun, popular, and carefree. She’s also a little spoiled and thinks nothing of eating food off her friends’ plates, showing up unannounced, and generally determining the next actions for her group of friends.
Meara’s not fond of Katie’s bossiness, but knows that she has a good heart. Katie is also supportive of Meara’s budding relationship with her brother, Evan, although she likes to tease them both.
Meara meets Evan during her first week in Peggy’s Cove. He’s the son of her mom’s childhood best friend, Lydia. Evan has two dogs, plays hockey, and goes to college. Although Katie warned Meara that Evan is a bit of a player, Meara decides to find out for herself and says yes when he asks her out. He’s easy to talk to, fun to hang around with, and is there for her at a time in her life when she needs someone. Evan seems to know just what to say and when to say it. He also has a wicked sense of humor and is super cute to boot!
About Never Forgotten
How can one day go so very wrong? One minute Meara Quinn is making plans for how she will spend the summer before her senior year. The next minute, she's finding out that her mother is seriously ill and they’re moving away from the only home Meara has ever known.
Now every day is a struggle as she tries to cope with her mother's illness, living in another country with grandparents that disowned her mother, and weird visions of a father who was absent her entire life. Top it all off with one whopping secret that everyone seems bent on keeping from her, and Meara has the perfect ingredients for a major melt down.
The only things keeping her from coming unglued are some new friends and Evan—the son of her mother's childhood friend—who seems to know Meara almost better than she knows herself.
Together with Evan and her friends, Meara embarks on a journey to unlock the secrets that will not only tell her who she is, but what she is.

About Kelly Risser
Kelly Risser knew at a young age what she wanted to be when she grew up. Unfortunately, Fairytale Princess was not a lucrative career. Leaving the castle and wand behind, she entered the world of creative business writing where she worked in advertising, marketing, and training at various companies. Currently, she works full time as an eLearning Instructional Designer, fitting her creative writing into the evenings and weekends.
She's often found lamenting, "It's hard to write when there are so many good books to read!" So, when she's not immersed in the middle of someone else's fantasy world, she's busy creating one of her own. This world is introduced in her first novel, Never Forgotten, and visited further in her second novel, Current Impressions. The third book in Meara’s story, Always Remembered, released on May 19, 2015. A Never Forgotten novella collection will release in early 2016.
Kelly lives in Wisconsin with her husband and two children. They share their home with Clyde the Whoodle and a school of fish.
