Meet Author Carrie Thomas

I’m so excited to be joining everyone for Apryl’s blogfest this year!  I write YA/NA romance.  I love writing about the beginning of adulthood. Everything is a little daunting and confusing then.  It makes me happy to iron all that out by the end of the book for each character I create.  How does anybody know why they do what they do?  Well, I like to write characters that actually figure that out. I often wonder what the inspiration is behind a good piece of art.  Books, music, movies…you name it.  So, I thought I’d give you guys the main piece of inspiration I had while writing the Dream Girls:Piper.  Music plays a huge role in my writing.  Hope you enjoy. Dream Girls: Piper—I listened to Hedley a lot while writing the first book. Piper was not as open to love as Moye was.  I wanted the reader to feel her pain as she struggled with taking that leap.  For most of us, trusting someone isn’t that difficult because we understand the difference between showing and telling.  But, for Piper, she’d never been shown. She’d never been taken care of.  With everyone in her life, she’d always taken the lead.  I think in order for someone like Piper to really fall, there had to be a good, solid, loyal man to catch her.  Otherwise, she kept the upper hand.  Fortunately, for both of them, she fell, and fell hard.

DREAM GIRLS: PIPER

Piper Allen’s spirit is too big for small-town USA. So after spending two years at their home-town college in Missouri, Piper and her two best friends, Stephanie and Nicole move to Dallas to finish up school and hopefully gain lots of life experience. For Piper, college isn’t a passion, it’s a requirement for a loan that she needs to fund her dream of opening a boutique. Her bohemian, free-spirited ways allow her to float through relationships pretty frequently, and with no strings attached, there is no chance of being hurt. It’s not for everyone, but it works for her…until a sweet, gentle cowboy walks into her life and wants to give her the future she’s been dreaming of.

Moye McKenzie is loyal, solid, and just about the easiest going guy you could ever meet. Obviously, he’s had women, but his dream girl? He hasn’t met her yet…Then a blonde-haired, blue-eyed Angel starts tending bar with his buddy, Cole. Moye is a no-nonsense “good ol’-boy,” and he doesn’t play games where the heart is concerned. Can he convince his Angel that sometimes love is kind, honest and everything she never thought it could be? Or will her reservations about relationships with men be too much for this cowboy to take?

THE FINAL BOOK IN THE DREAM GIRLS SERIES COMING SOON

Thanks for checking out my work!  I am a wife and a mom of two boys.  This is my greatest accomplishment because my boys are AWESOME!   I love reading a great romance—one that is so good, I can’t wait to call my sisters and talk about it.  I spend my vacation time between traveling the US and stalking my favorite bands.  I write romance because everyone can relate to love and I enjoy writing a happy ending!  I’m always down to hear from readers—in fact, it’s one of my favorite things.  Hit me up on social media or by e-mail.  Book lovers should always stick together. 1. Hi Carrie! Love stories are wonderful reads and especially young love! I'm married to my high school sweetheart. (30 years!) He wants to know who's your favorite band? We love bands from the 70's. Great blog and good luck in all you write!
