Meet Author Amanda Strong

Hello friends!  I’m so excited to be part of Apryl Baker’s awesome My Crazy Corner YA/NA BlogFest!  Apryl is such a doll for putting these together for us J  For those who don’t know me, I’m a mother of three by day, and a caped, dark crusader by night! Okay, maybe I don’t wear a cape, but I do love getting lost in books! Whether reading or writing them.

I was recently asked in a blog interview if I believed in the muse, and if so, what would mine be.  First of all, what a great question.  I mean, what’s a muse anyway?  Is it really just a woman, or force in the form of a woman, who inspires creative artists?  Last I checked, I didn’t have a woman hovering over me while I typed away at the computer.  (And if I did, that is so creepy, and possibly going into my next horror/suspense book.)  I do like the idea that a muse is something or someone that inspires artists.  I think as writers we definitely find inspiration in almost everything around us.  Sometimes the most random and mundane things will totally spark a new idea or plot twist.  So with that said, I thought it might be fun to share with you some of my muses for my books today.

My first series, The Watchers of Men, is a YA paranormal series full of angels and demons.

My muses are most definitely music (Killers, Imagine Dragons, Blue October, Snow Patrol, to name a few) and…

Yep, you guessed it, the Hemsworth brothers!  Chris Hemsworth inspired me while writing Gabriel (Eden’s guardian angel) and Liam Hemsworth inspired me while writing Micah.

If you want to know more about Chris…er…Watchers of Men series, you can check out the trailers here!

Or you can check them out on Amazon!

The Awakener (Book one) is FREE on ebook!  http://tinyurl.com/jwd8fon
Holy and Fallen (Book two)  http://tinyurl.com/pnph7ps

My other series, Monsters Among Us, is a YA Sci Fi, psychological thriller.

My muses for this series most definitely includes music (Imagine Dragons, Mumford and Sons, Avicii, Killers, A Great Big World, again to name a few)  and…

Yes, dragonflies.  Absolutely LOVE them!  If you’re wondering what they could have to do with an abduction, you can check out the trailer!

Or better yet, read more about it on Amazon!   http://tinyurl.com/nfvytu5

My newest creation, Kiss of Time, is part of a time travel anthology,
Twists in Time.

Being a short story, I had to think about what really inspired me.  What drove the story for me and I decided my muse was…

Okay, how can I not say Doctor Who?!  I mean, come on…it’s time travel we are talking here J  Actually, Kiss of Time does not have any of the Doctors in it.  (Sigh)  But the concept of time travel and all the crazy adventures that can await someone did inspire me.

If you want to read more, check it out on Amazon! http://tinyurl.com/pxtv75w

Just remember there are no wrong answers when it comes to who or what your own muses are!  The important thing is just be inspired!  Find something that gets you excited, makes you want to read or write like crazy, and hopefully helps you get lost in the wonderful world of imagination.  I had fun sharing my random muses with you today!

Mother of three by day, story spinner by night, I've had a love for writing my entire life.  Other passions include reading, people watching (not the creepy kind mind you), and finding the answer to all the 'what if' questions out there in the Universe!  Fascinated by myths and legends, my stories tend to veer into the paranormal, with a splash of romance, action, and at times, suspense and horror.  Since my first book was published in the fall of 2013, I’ve enjoyed connecting with fans and readers from all over the world!  With every novel I write, I hope to entertain, captivate, and inspire my readers!  www.authoramandastrong.com

  1. Amazing blog, Amanda! I will definitely be buying them!
I love writing too. To see a fan talk about one of your characters like they are real entices me to write more! I love it!

This Blogfest has been a blast meeting and reading about many different writers. Wouldn't it be great if we could all meet one day?!
