 (The Fated, #1).

Hope's Decree eBook- Low Res

When everything else is lost, there is always hope.

While most teens want an epic senior year, Trinity Whitebone hoped for a normal one. Being seventeen was hard enough. Having the emotions of everyone around you in your head made life more than a little difficult.

Until Blain Heros enrolled.

He screamed hot-god in jeans with just his walk. His intense stare warmed her skin like a thousand suns. Unfortunately, his interest in her seemed to run from blazing to freezing in the span of moments and left her nothing but confused. She could deal with things not being normal, but when life goes from strange to dangerous

Trinity is the direct descendant of Pandora and fated to rectify the terrors released into the world by her curious ancestor. With powers she didnt know existed and abilities she never wanted, Trinity tries to walk away from everything her life had become. She thought she could turn her back on her fate, until a band of rogue immortals discover who she is and will do whatever it takes to control her powers. Trinity is left with one decisionEmbrace fate or die trying.

< 3 Character Interview < 3

Angela: Morpheus, Trinity, and Blain, thanks for answering a few questions for us today.

Everyone nods and smiles back

Angela: My first question goes to Morpheus. I've had ladies who want to know what song you were singing in the car with Trinity when the two of you first trained together?

Blain laughs. Morpheus leans forward and glares at him.

Morpheus:
Whats so funny?

Morpheus crosses his arms over chest.

Blain: Man, youve gone on and on about all the questions youd be asked.

Blain pauses, attempting to control his fits of laughter.

Blain: And the top question is what song you were singing?

Morpheus ignores Blain, directing his attention back to me.

Morpheus: Sorry, Snookums is jealous of all the action I get, apparently.

Morpheus clears his throat.

Morpheus: I believe the song was Blake Sheltons, Honey Bee."

Morpheus turns to look at Trinity.

Trinity: Um, dont look at me. I told you I don't like sappy country music crap. And I'm pretty sure I blocked that entire ride to Blain's house out of my mind.

Angela: Okay, lets move on. Morpheus, what was is like when you were evil, and do you miss it?

Morpheus: Great question, Angela.

Morpheus winks.

Morpheus: When Psycho, AKA Melia, drove the orb into my chest, I didnt feel anything, really. And that's why the darkness the spreads from an orb is so deadly. Think of is as a virus. Anyway, I felt like a weight had lifted and all the things I thought were wrong, werent anymore. To say I dont miss that sort of freedom would be a lie.

Morpheus grins wickedly.

Morpheus: Cause ya know, sometimes being a little bad is oh so good.

Blain: Doesnt surprise me at all.

Trinity reaches over and laces her fingers through his.

Trinity: Be nice, she whispers in his ear.

Morpheus: Awe, is sweet-cheeks in a bad mood?

A flash of white light zaps Morpheus in the chest, knocking him out of the chair and onto the linoleum floor.

Morpheus: Hey, whats with you?

Morpheus stands, dusting off his shirt and then moves back into his seat.

Trinity: Maybe thatll teach you to be nice. This—”

Trinity waves a hand in my direction.

Trinity: Is a professional interview. People arent going to want to read about us if you continue being an ass.

Trinity glares while Morpheus rolls his eyes.

Morpheus: "I'm trying to keep the interview fun and interesting, but I can only do so much. You two could help me out."

Morpheus laughs. Together, Blain and Trinity send a small current of energy into his chest, again.

Morpheus: "When this is over, it's on."

Morpheus sulks in his chair.

Angela: Lets move to you, Blain. When you first met Trinity, what did you think of her?

Trinity: Oh, this should be good, Trinity says, looking at Blain.

Blain: Well, Blain says, looking at Trinity. I thought she was the most beautiful woman Id ever seen. Even with popcorn falling from her hair and soda soaked through her shirt.

Blain winks. Trinitys cheeks blush.

Morpheus: Gag. You two need a break, Morpheus grumbles. "Blain, man up."

Trinity: Youre just jealous because Crystal hasnt returned any of your phone calls.

Trinity makes a face, sticking her tongue out at Morpheus.

Morpheus: "Very mature, love."

Trinity: "Bite me."

Angela: Next question is for Blain, again. The fight between you and Melia was pretty intense. I didnt think you were going to make it out alive, but you did. Can you talk about what happened? What thoughts ran through your mind, that sort of thing?

Blain slides his hand out from Trinitys.Turning, he gazes adoringly back at her. Lifting a hand, Blain brushes a few escaped tears from her reddened cheek.

Blain: "
We can leave if you're uncomfortable."

Trinity: "No, I'm okay."

Blain nods, his expression grim.

Blain: It was the worst day of my existence. When I fought Melia, my only goal was to destroy her for what shed done to Trinity. I didnt feel anything but hate and vengeance. I wanted to end her.

Blain's body begins to glow with golden light. He shuts his eyes, taking a few deep, exaggerated breaths.

Blain: All that registered was Trinitys fallen figure, lifelessly resting on the snow covered ground. I thought—”

*Silence*

Angela: Its okay, we can stop there.

Morpheus: Dude, you are such a wuss, Morpheus says, breaking the uncomfortable silence. If Trinity dies, the story is over. No more me, the most wanted bachelor on earth, and yeah, no more you either. Get over yourself.

Trinity reaches for Blains hand, stopping him from zapping Morpheus with a dose of high voltage energy.

Morpheus: Try it, I dare you. Looks like you're still a little slow, brother.

Trinity frowns at Morpheus.

Trinity: Continue egging him on, and next time I wont stop him from kicking your arrogant ass.

Angela: Next time Ill be sure to interview you all separately. Trinity, youve embraced your gifts the gods. Accepted your destiny to right the world form the evil Pandora unleashed when she opened her box of wonders. You've also gotten Blain to admit that hes crazy about you.

Trinity smiles, blushing.

Angela: How are you keeping it together?

Trinity: I wouldnt say Im keeping it together. More like I just keep moving on. If I think about the responsibility for too long I start to freak out. As far as getting this guy to admit his feelings? Yeah, I had to lose my memory, and then almost die before he admitted anything. I wouldnt recommend going to such extremes for a guy. Not sure if I'd risk so much for another guy.

Blain: What do you mean another guy?

Blain's deep blue eyes turns cold.

Morpheus laughs.

Trinity glares.

Trinity: "It took you way too long to admit you couldnt live without me.

Blain's face smooths.

Blain: Fair point, and I'm sorry.

Angela: Fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing. I just have one more question for Trinity. After your near death experience, you went back to Blains house for the night.

Morpheus: Oh, gods. Im going to vomit.

Angela: Anyway, you had a horrific dream. Do you think it means anything?

Trinitys eyes dart to her trembling hands.

Blain: Hey, Blain says sweetly, lifting her chin, he gazes into her eyes. What dream is she talking about?

In a flash, Blain rushes around Trinity, jerks Morpheus out of his seat, and throws him across the room.

Trinity: Blain, no!

Trinitys voice echoes in the small room.

Morpheus: What the hell?

Morpheus's eyes scan the room, pissed. His face smoothes, and he winks.

Morpheus: Did she dream about me?

Blains face darkens and a blaze of golden sparks fly at Morpheus. Moving with ferocious speed, Morpheus dodges the attack, while laughing. Running to Blain, Trinity grabs the front of his shirt and shakes him, hard.

Trinity: Hey! Stop it. Morpheus had nothing to do with the dream I had.

Blain takes a few seconds to calm down. The air in the room turns chilly. Blain looks at Trinity and then glares at Morpheus. Finally with a curt nod from Blain, all three take their seats again.

Angela: Before one of you injures the other or blows up this room, well finish. But not until Trinity answers my last question.

Trinity holds Blains hand. Pain registers across her face. With a sigh, she starts.

Trinity: I dreamt that Blain was being attacked and I couldnt reach him. I had a terrible feeling, like something was wrong and when I found Blain, he was wrapped in darkness.

Trinity shifts in her seat, her attention fully on Blain.

Trinity: Im not sure if I dreamt that because I saw Melia throw that huge black ball of energy at you or what, but it felt so real. I was terrified.

Tears trickle down her cheeks. Blains expression remains blank, too hard to interpret.

Trinity: Before I woke up, your entire body was covered in black and then you disappeared all together.

Angela: Blain, would you care to tell us how you feel or what you think of Trinitys dream?

Blain: This interview is over.
