For Always (book one)
Malyn Reed has been able to see spirits her entire life. Now that she's almost seventeen, she has learned to differentiate between the living and the dead, making her gift feel less like an evil curse. She ignores the spirits she encounters on a daily basis, which has made living side by side with them slightly easier...until she moves to Dandridge, the second oldest town in Tennessee.

Beau Brogan was a hard working country boy from Dandridge, Tennessee who loved his family and stole the hearts of many southern belles. But all of that came to a tragic halt at the age of nineteen when his life came to an untimely end. For the past hundred years, his spirit has been entombed in a ghostly life of loneliness and misery that he wishes would just end...until the Reeds move in.

For Now (book two) ~Coming April 15th~
Even among the spirit world, Beau Brogan is different. He has the ability to interact with the living world in ways that are uncommon for most ghosts, drawing the much unwanted attention of Takers, the inhabitants of the Darkness. When Beau realizes the secrets that are held within the Darkness, he will have to face one of the toughest decisions he has ever made, dead or alive...and his decision could ultimately change everything, for him and Malyn.

Malyn Reed is not only fervently haunted by Beau, but she is also haunted by the decision he makes, which could make her rethink everything that she has ever believed in. And when a freak accident turns Malyn's and her best friend, Beth's, lives upside down, Malyn will have some decisions of her own to make.

Beau Brogan

Malyn Reed

Beau, let's start with you. It's not often that one of the main characters in a book is actually dead, which makes you rather unique. How did it feel to die?

Beau: (Smiling shyly, showing off a nice set of dimples) Well, it wasn't fun. From what I can remember, I was panicked at first, when I realized my boot was stuck on somethin' and I couldn't get my head above water. But once I knew it was over, then I was just...sad, worryin' about my family.

Malyn, it was made clear early on in the story that you have the ability to see ghosts, which enables you to be able to see Beau. How has this ability impacted your life?

Malyn: Luckily, I had a terrific support system who helped me understand what was going on.

You mean your grandmother, Nellie?

Malyn: Yes. Her and our friend, Max, have abilities of their own so they understood what I was going through. And once I was able to tell the difference between the living and the dead, it became much easier; I just ignored the dead ones.
Beau: Except for this dead one. (He winks and nudges her with his elbow.)
Malyn: (Blushes) No one could ignore you if they tried.

Beau, you grew up on a farm in Tennessee during the late 1800s, which is evident in your southern accent. As far as being liked by readers, do you think this helps or hurts you?

Beau: I've got an accent? (We laugh because he sincerely looks like he had no clue.)
Malyn: It helps. It definitely helps. I mean, who doesn't love a southern gentleman?

I've got just a few more questions, and these are from readers. The first one comes from Beverly and is for Beau. She wants to know what you like most about being a ghost.

Beau: Well, I never really thought about it. I guess I like how light I feel, and the fact that I can't really feel anything at all sometimes.

The next question is another one for Beau from Sandy Livingston, who wants to know if you could, would you want to be alive again.

(Looks at Malyn and nods) More than anything in this world.

(They are still silently staring at each other as I begin my next question.) I hate to interrupt, but I've got one more question. Book two, For Now, is coming out on April 15th. Is there anything you can tell us about this book, maybe how it differs from the first?

Malyn: There are definitely more surprises and twists and turns in this one, not just for readers, but for us as well.
Beau: I'd have to agree. This one even has me wonderin' how it's all gonna end.

Well, I'm sure there are several readers wondering the same thing. And that about wraps it up for this interview. Thank you both for joining me.

Malyn: You're welcome.
Beau: It was my pleasure, ma'am.

Yes, I would have to agree with Malyn; the accent definitely helps.
