By D. Nichole King
Release date:  November 18, 2014

Summary from Goodreads:
They vowed to never return.

Their lives depend on it. With last summer behind them, Lucas and Carrie think they’re safe.

Only the Moore House isn’t through with them.

Dead ends and blocked attempts leave them wary.

Lucas seems to be fading away. His eyes no longer glow, his skin pales. Exhaustion consumes him, leaving him distant when he’s with Carrie. Not knowing what’s happening to him kills her.

From all around, shadows creep in, and there’s nowhere to hide.

Blurb for Two Blue Lines (Crossing the Line, Book #1):
His fear . . . Her secrets . . . Their choice.

Lied to everyone?

Those two blue lines changed everything for Reed
Young and Melissa Summers. In more ways than one.

Man up or walk away?

SC Montgomery has created an emotional tale of
first love, difficult choices, and impossible secrets.  A deliciously
angsty debut you need to read for yourself.

***Reader Warning*** Two Blue Lines is
the emotional, honest story of two teenagers whose lives are about to change
forever.  While not glorified, or portrayed in detail, there are themes of
sexual assault and teen pregnancy, as well as allusions to teenage drinking and
some foul language.  It is all meant to create an honest, relevant novel,
but please be aware and read only if you’re comfortable.

***To be available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Kobo. Buy links available soon.

SC Montgomery is a self-proclaimed nerd and readaholic.  She has dabbled in telling stories since she
was very young by letting her imagination play out with her Barbie dolls and
her bestie many a weekend.  She also
writes Contemporary adult romance under the pen name Shauna Allen, and it was
in one of those novels that the YA bug bit when she wrote in a teenager loosely
based on her own son.  Her first story, The Summer of Lettie, was penned as a
gift for her mother, but was published with her blessing, and it’s just taken
off from there.
SC is married with three teenagers of her own, who give her plenty of inspiration and
advice, and are a constant source of laughter and new terminology.  Besides writing, she loves reading, movies,
singing and dancing reality shows and going to the beach.

Holly Hearts Hollywood
by Kenley Conrad
Release Date: 09/23/14
Swoon Romance

Summary from Goodreads:

Seventeen-year-old Holly Hart wants to be a star. She moves to Los Angeles from the small town of Cedar Junction, only to hear she’s too fat and ugly to be a famous singer.

But when Shell Shocked Records looks past Holly’s plus-size and less-than-graceful-personality to offer her a recording contract, Holly cannot believe her good fortune. On closer inspection, however, the record execs want Holly to do all the singing, and a thinner and more beautiful girl, Lacey, would lip-sync and get all the credit. Holly goes for it because after all, she wanted to sing.

Contractually bound to secrecy, Holly is more than happy to sit backstage while Lacey shimmies in the limelight and basks in the fame. Before she knows it, Holly is friends with Serena, the pop-star daughter of a music-mogul, flirting with an intern, and developing a strange half-friendship with Lacey.

When Grayson Frost, the biggest country star in America, and coincidentally, a former school bully begins dating Lacey, Holly hopes that he won’t recognize or torment her.

Through a series of embarrassing and weird events, Holly gets to know Grayson and learns that he is much nicer and more mature than he was four years ago. Holly is horrified when she starts falling for him. When Grayson admits he fell for Lacey's voice, what is a girl to do when she can’t legally tell the truth at the moment when the truth matters the most?

My Review:  5 out of 5 stars

This was an absolutely fabulous novel. I loved it. The diary entries made Holly seem so much more real to me as a reader. And Grayson? Oh my! Definitely swoon worthy.

There’s so much more to this story than it seems. It’s about a young girl who’s dealing with self-esteem issues, being overweight, and learning to love herself. She has a strong voice that grows as we watch the story unfold. Teens will love it as it hits home for many of their own issues.

Add a cast of characters that will leave you laughing, crying, and wanting to throttle them, it’s the making of a fabulous new series and I can’t wait to read more!
