Interview with Raven Davenport
Hi everyone and
thank you for joining College Sports Network, I’m your host, Jenna Presley.
Today, I have a very special guest, Park Hill University’s star quarterback,
Raven Davenport.
Jenna: Hi Raven,
thanks for joining us today.
Raven:
Thanks for inviting me. (He
rubs his palms against his thighs and
I have to force myself to look away.)

Jenna: First, I’d
like to congratulate you and the team on a terrific season. Twelve wins and two
losses is a great record. How does it feel to know that you had an integral
part in leading your team to a winning season?
Raven:
Honestly? (He lets out a
chuckle. Damn he’s so hot.) Pretty good.
We’ve worked hard this season, practicing and perfecting our weaknesses.
I just went out there and played. I love football…it’s in my blood and comes
naturally to me.
Jenna: So you
didn’t set a goal to get PHU to a bowl game?
Raven:
(He shifts in his chair.
I think I made him nervous.) Of course it was a goal, but I play better when I
don’t pressure myself. I wanted the senior players to have a great season and
have a chance to play in a top bowl. We supported one another and that’s why we
landed a spot in the Lone Star Bowl.
Jenna: How do you
feel about your opponent, the Tri-Gold State Eagles? They have an equally
competitive record. Do you think PHU can beat them?
Raven: They make a great opponent, and hell yeah, I
know we can beat them. (He grins and I feel myself being lured by his
contagious smile.)
Jenna: (Gathering
my guts, I prepare to ask him a personal question. I hope it doesn’t make him
mad.) It’s rumored that you’re dating PHU’s baseball pitcher Collin Norris’
ex-girlfriend, Lexi Thompson. Is that true?
Raven:
(His eyes widen in
surprise and it takes him a moment to answer.) Yes, we’re dating.
Jenna: (Damn!) I
see. I’m sure many women at PHU are disappointed. (Including myself. Sigh.)
Raven:
(He shrugs and his lips
twist to the side.) I’m sorry, but she’s the only woman I want in my trap.
Jenna: (We’ll see
about that.) I’m sure she’s thrilled to be in The Raven’s trap. I wish you two
the best. (Not really.) I know this is an off question, but has anyone ever
told you look like actor/model Nick Denbeigh?
Raven:
(He laughs and I swear
his cheeks redden.) Yeah. I’ve been told that before.
Maybe because
we’re both of mixed race and workout daily.
Jenna: (I want to
ask him to take off his shirt, but I don’t want to lose my job.) Yeah, that
must be it. (I catch myself staring a little too long.) I wish you and the team
best of luck for the Lone Star Bowl Game, which is scheduled for Saturday, Jan.
